You'll know this worked 'cause the "Air Boss" will come over the radio and chew you out. Once you've lined it up, push up on the right stick to engage your afterburner, and make sure you've got a lot of distance between you and the tower, because you have to break the sound barrier before you reach the tower and maintain the speed, and then just buzz the tower by flying as close as you can get to it. In order to do this, you need to start out a distance away from the control tower next to your landing area, either on the aircraft carrier or at the airfield.
